Knowledge, Understanding and Development of Self
KUDOS is a project that develops children's understanding of themselves, enabling them to have a fuller and more positive experience in school and in life. The project allows schools to provide sustained support to pupils in UKS2/KS3 who may have additional social pastoral needs; our current projects include pupils from alternative provision settings, looked-after children and those with other additional SEMH needs.
KUDOS stands for Knowledge, Understanding and Development of Self.
The project links student leadership, pastoral support and positive wellbeing.
It promotes reflection, conversation, teamwork and good communication.
KUDOS is designed with reference to Strength-Based Coaching, and the project is being developed by
Jo Castro and Jonny Walker.
In 2019-20, the KUDOS project is running with Eko Trust in Newham, and with pupils from Akroydon Primary School in Calderdale, West Yorkshire.
We are currently looking to run this project in new areas.
We would be able to work with schools, or pupils from a group of schools, in any part of England this project.
The project has six whole-day sessions, the first ideally being for staff development purposes.
"THE ATMOSPHERE WAS OPEN AND RELAXED AND JONNY CREATED A PLAYFUL AND FRIENDLY ENERGY WHICH MADE THE CHILDREN (AND MAYBE SOME ADULTS!) FEEL RELAXED AND AT EASE."

YOUR PATIENCE, ABILITY TO INCLUDE AND ENGAGE OUR STUDENTS IS FASCINATING. WE HAVE HAD MANY EXTERNAL AGENCIES IN SCHOOL BEFORE BUT YOUR PROGRAMME IS SOMETHING I WOULD NOT FEEL ABLE TO REPLICATE. THIS IS BECUASE OF YOUR ABILITY TO INTERACT WITH THE CHILDREN, BUILD RAPPORT AND TRUST, BUT STILL RELATE TO THE CHILDREN IN A WAY THAT OTHER PROFESSIONALS FAIL TO DO. YOU HAVE SUCH A NATURAL WAY WITH THE CHILDREN WHICH ALLOWS THEM TO FEEL IMPORTANT, VALUED AND SECURE.
